Lol, Linda. Is Cleveland not an airport? It won't accept my destination point and not being a US citizen, I do not know the name of the airport(s) there.

There's a search engine called google. Type in 'Cleveland airport' and see what happens. You don't have to be a U.S. citizen to do this.

Stache, go to bed!! Sarcasm does not become you........
When you come down to this part of the world, I will show you how friendly and helpful the people who live here are to foreigners. In the meantime, a good sleep might help your disposition, perhaps.

Cleveland is CAK
It depends on the day you fy and the time you fly of course. Right now you can fly on September 28 from LA going to Cleveland on Airtran for $135 (all taxes included) with one stop (8 hour total flight time).
You might check Delta too. Not all airlines fly into all airports, but Airtran and Delta are competitive so they both usually fly into the same airports. Airtran and Delta are my favorite airlines, with Airtran having larger/newer planes with better leg room.

Sarah I have been to your neck of the woods and everyone was extremely charming, but everyone was also very computer literate and understood how to use a search engine. Can you explain your deficiency?

CAK airport is actually Acron/Canton, Ohio. Cleveland airport's code is CLE.

I'm sorry to be so nasty about it but she does this quite a bit, like a thread about a celebrity she is not familiar with etc. Instead of doing a quick search, everything has to stop so it can get explained to her. It's tiresome.

It's tiresome. You don't have to apologise, Stache. You can't help your personality and irritability. My question was courteously answered by others.

Oh, no. Sorry. That is so weird because when you go to Airtran's website and choose "Cleveland Area" it comes up CAK. I've only flown into Cleveland once on business and I flew Delta, not Airtran. Sorry for the confusion. I'm guessing now that Airtran does not fly directly into CLE so they list CAK as "Cleveland Area". Delta definitely flies directly into CLE, just don't know if they do one-way or not. RT right now on Delta it is about $360 (taxes included) in late September, early Oct from LA/Cleveland/LA.

I think it's somewhat close, but not necessarily convenient, especially since you won't save enough w/ Airtran to Akron to make up for the drive. Sarah might want to try southwest.com and see what the prices are like there. Southwest doesn't use expedia or travelocity, so their website is the only place to find their fares. Sometimes they are the same, and sometimes a lot cheaper. DCNGA wrote:Oh, no. Sorry. That is so weird because when you go to Airtran's website and choose "Cleveland Area" it comes up CAK. If your coming to Cleveland to see dr guyuron, the travel difference for the two airports is only about 5-10 min. 30-45 for cle and 40-55 for akron depending on traffic. Google says its longer but it's wrong. Akron airport is tiny while cle is huge so the time you'll spend driving you'll save when your inside.
