At 78, designer Valentino looks pretty good although his tanning habits are starting to remind me of the episode of Seinfeld where George envisions Kramer as a roast turkey.

As they say in Skin Res Technol. 2000 Nov;6(4):199-204, this shade is outside the "natural universe of tan."

OMG! He should have left the 'excess skin' on his upper lids STAY THERE and not have it cut off with upper bleph. All the upper bleph did was 'groom' his 'older eye'. cybergirl wrote:At 78, designer Valentino looks pretty good although his tanning habits are starting to remind me of the episode of Seinfeld where George envisions Kramer as a roast turkey.

He makes such pretty clothes - how does he not realize how ridiculous his tanning looks?

Miss J I totally agree. Have you heard of a doctor who specializes in men's bleph? So often I see men around who have had this procedure done and so often it looks VERY feminizing. Its a good look for a woman his age, sort of regal and refined, but it does not work for men. I wouldnt mind a bit less fat around my eyes but I wouldnt dare get a bleph for fear of being feminized. (i love the work dr R did on this patients lower face but the bleph and eye lift are too feminizing in my opinion)

Hard to tell the bleph from the brow lift.

Wow, that's quite the transformation. Bear in mind, this kid is wearing mascara and lipstick in those after pics, and appears to have had dyed his eyebrows. He's also sporting a new Peter Pan nose. So the feminine ticks are coming from all over the picture with this guy, not to mention sundry places off picture.

He also lifted the guys brow. But THAT guy seems like he wants to PLAY UP on that kind of look--like note how it looks like he has mascara on or Latisse or something to the lashes. AValmont wrote:

I don't think its the bleph that is making that Dr. R patient look so femanine. The thing that stands out to me is how high his nose is rotated up. Also, what Miss J mentioned about his eye lashes. It looks like he's wearing mascara!

About six months ago I was channel surfing one weekend night, looking for something to watch on tv, when I came across a Valentino documentary called, I think, "The Last Emperor," which was a fairly recent film. Valentino's lifestyle is utterly amazing, and even after watching the film . . . twice, I might add, I still don't really undestand where all the money comes from. Valentino's partner of forty-five years, Giancarlo Giammetti, seems to be the driving force behind all the commercial success. Valentino has the talent, but Giammetti has the business school know-how, and he's managed to parlay Valentino's talent into an amazingly lucrative empire. Anyway, a lot of the film shows the two of them bitching at each other, like any couple of forty-five years would, and at one point Giammetti looks at Valentino and says, "You're too tan; you look like a holiday goose!" Giammetti is quite the looker. He's the one with the silver hair.

I like the part where V. is getting an award, and G. says 'V. won't mention me', then V makes a point of thanking G. for all his help. It was very sweet.

Geez, that first shot of Valentino - completely trumps my MixTo laser resurfacing. I may still be all red and blotchy now (at 8 weeks post!), but at least no one would mistake me for a roasted turkey. Diseased turkey, yes. Roasted, no. I Bug U
