I have been using Latisse and along with that new Loreal mascara with the tiny funny-shaped wand have gotten great results.

Thanks. I was intially nervous to use it because of that statement about how it may cause brown pigmentation in the iris that is permanent and since I have blue eyes I definitely didn't want that to happen. But I heard that isn't even Latisse, it's in Lumegan or something but they had to put it on the label.

Gorgeous eye is right, and I just saw your pic on the other thread Cindy. You do have beautiful hair too. Sooo pretty! But is Latisse one you have to worry about your eye changing color? Or am I wrong on that? Sorry, I have not read all of the threads on this here. I have a friend who works one day a month (bookkeeping) for a cosmetic derm and she told me that some people have had their blue or green eyes darken to brown. Not all, but some. I can't remember if it was Latisse though. Your eyes and lashes are beautiful.

Wow, your lashes look amazing!
Latisse and Lumigan are the same thing; it's just that Latisse is the product marketed to grow eyelashes, and Lumigan is prescribed for glaucoma sufferers. But the darkening of pigmentation is very rare, I'm sure. How do you apply it? Do you put it in your eye, or just on the lash line?

Latisse is not as strong as Lumigan the (glaucoma drops) so the iris darkening is less common with Latisse that is why they (Allergan) made it less strong since is technically over the counter. In Paris- Lumigan is however, is over the counter and 40.00 dollars a bottle compared to 125.00 for watered down Latisse. I used to get lumigan from my derm - I have green eyes no darkening and my best friend with blue eyes had no darkening with lumigan.

It's applied with a small brush kind of like an eyeliner. Just don't get the stuff in your eye.

I like nu lash better is 150 last as least 6months or longer. as oppsed to 125 per month for latisse. nu lash you can buy at saks fifth avenue or nieman marcus or the website. Latisse makes them grow longer and darker. Nu lash makes them grow longer not as long but thcker with also more curl. just a matter of preference.

Thank you Julia, for that great info. I'm so tempted. Still a bit scared of the eye color thing, but feeling much better about it since your posts.

Mine look like Cindy's.Love the stuff and have had no pigment change. Here's where I get mine: http://www.inhousepharmacy.com/eyes/lumigan.htmlget the lumigan .3%.Best deal is to get the 3 bottles for $105 because that will be enough for around 16 weeks which is how long it takes for them to grow long their full length. After that you only have to use it 2 x's a week and you can order more at that point. Use one drop in the lumigan bottle cap with thin brush for both eyelids.

Just wanted to direct everyone to another thread on Latisse/Lumegan for informational purposes. I've used Latisse since April and have not had brown pigmentation. I prefer the lesser strength since it still grows and darkens eyelashes and seems safer. http://missjfacialplasticsurgery.com/missjforum/yaf_postst4393_Eyelash-Growth-combined-with-Dry-Eye-relief.aspx

I've been using Latisse for the last few months and stopped because it made my lids so red. I get extensions though, so it is hard to tell how well it worked. My lash lady told me to start using something........now she says my lashes grow so fast. Residual effect maybe? May need another round soon. I'm addicted to lashes now.

So, what's the final word on eyebrows? Does it make them thicker? I would love thicker, more shapely brows.

Latisse and Lumigan are the same strength, 0.03% mg/ml bimatoprost. I've also heard this from some derms. When Lumigan is used for treating glaucoma it's applied directly in the eye, so can be more potentially risky long term in regards to side effects. However, when people use Lumigan for growing lashes, it can be used exactly the same as Latisse. I've used Lumigan for over a year, with a small eyeliner brush ( I alternate brushes and cleanse them well) and have great results as well. I also know several other women who use Lumigan and some even longer time than I have. Some derms have prescribed 'off label' use of lash growth but many won't, especially now with Latisse being marketed solely for lash growth. But I've bought Lumigan online from an Indian pharmacy and it cost approx $15 a bottle. Even with the shipping it ended up way less expensive than Latisse, and I got a few bottles. The reason it's way cheaper is because drugs are just way overpriced in the U.S. and the same pharmaceutical companies have plants in different countries which manufacture exact same product for cheaper. The bottles I got are labelled the same as Lumigan sold here. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it really works, and now only use it 3 x wk, or 2 if I forget, but my lashes are still longer than ever. I have brown eyes, but I know people with green or blue eyes also using the Lumigan from online overseas pharmacies, and they haven't had any iris darkening. My friend got the Latisse and we have similar results. Latisse is great if you don't mind paying for it, but I'd rather save some money if can get same results with Lumigan. I think the Indian pharmacy (alldaychemist) started to require prescriptions for Lumigan last year, since it seems too many people were ordering and the manufacturer (Allergan) must have pressured them, since they obviously don't want to lose money from selling the more expensive Latisse. But they sell a generic from another manufacturer, which is supposed to contain same ingred. But I haven't tried that one since I still have some Lumigan left.

Guy's how do we know this is really safe? were not putting it directly into our eye's but our skin is absorbing this stuff where does it go from there? Drugs are acidic, it can't be safe like its all natural because its not,and drugs have side effects.
I just went to the doctor because I have what is called a floater I never had one before, so it scared me because I'm like what is this dot ?I thought it was a bug at first, but I only have one in my left eye and just so happens my eyelashes grew even more the next week,I had to stop using it,I don't know how It got there, only thing I can think of is inflammation, and I'm guessing at that, the stuff does make my eyeballs itch. The doctor dilated my eyes and he said it looked fine,he just took x-ray also Im going back for them next week.
maybe its just not for me,but if you notice any changes go to the eye doctor guy's to be on the safe side,I'm gonna try something different, the stuff did make them grow though.FDA say's its safe, but their in it like the drug companies I really don't trust them either.

Well, the FDA approved it as something you need a prescription to use. So right there, you know anything you need a script for is going to have some side effects.
