Well I had SEEN women in Playboy who were shaved, then about 5 years ago, I had a steady boyfriend who immediately suggested he liked it that way....so that's how I figured it out.....these days, most heterosexual guys who occasionally look at Playboy or porn are conditioned that way I guess.....

I remember at least 15 years ago, no joke, my husband went to a batchelor party and came home to tell me that the stripper was *hairless down there* I was like What?? My undiagnosed OCD kicked in big time (JK) and I started shaving too. It was like a full time job!!! Itchy and scratchy a few days afterwards, yikes. Ever tried waxing? I am too old and too much of a chicken for that I guess.

Yeah I think the trend began right around the time of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape, maybe 15 years ago or more. Maybe I would try waxing for the "right person..." Yeah shaving is a pain in the butt. I used to shave and use Nair......

well, you just protect the part you need to protect with your underwear; as to make a 'wedgie' with the underwear

I only shave if I'm planning on having sex, so that's basically hardly ever....I wish shaving would go out of style, it is not attractive of some ladies (particularly us older gals)
Um... personal question I know...but how do you 'plan' to have sex??? I thought it was supposed to be 'in the moment' LOL. You do NOT have to answer if TMI!!

stache wrote:Are the guys shaving too? This is so weird. yes stache! It's called "man-scaping" Pretty much any woman under 35 does something b/c really there are only two types of panties younger women were these days Thongs and boyshorts. Now if you don"t wax, shave or laser (only if you are a brunette) - well, it overflows over the thong perimeters not a good look. Most men under 35 years do not like it natural unless they are a "crunchy, hippie" type of guy. So waxing plus trimming too. That is why bliss spa just rolled out a female trimmer. I wax + my legs, my arms. Cant do laser I am too fair. Yes it hurts in the beginning but once you start is hurt less and less. Every month, pop an advil and then wax. Find good one Waxer (that is clean)and cuts the pain down to minimum. Plus, no razor burn. Also, you don't want to do a brazilian (ie hair between the butt cheeks with a razor!)

Well let's say, if I have a date with someone I'm attracted to, and I think I might (or probably will) have sex, then I'd shave......(although sometimes I specifically won't if I want to try to "be good," which sometimes backfires on me.........)

This ranks right up there as one of the wildest threads gone astray ever! Another reason this is always an interesting board. What's scary is the younger women doing labiaplasty and thinking if they don't that they are "deformed". Sorry, but I find this one plain ridiculous and risky. Quote:Labiaplasty is for women who have a problem with large labia, asymmetric labia or related female genital issues. Labiaplasty permits the reduction of large labia (labia minora and labia majora) to reduce their outward appearance and correct misshapenness or irregularities. If I was a younger woman who thought I needed this type of operation to be attractive to a guy, I would feel sorry for myself.

now my surgeon suggests using a "pickle fork "(20 guage ) under the scar to try to release some of the tethering.Anyone know what the official sugical name of that tool is? Anyone have any experience with something like this to help decrease a linear scar (scar looks like a really deep smokers line, but really is from a car accident)

My surgeon used a Coleman dissection blade (I think - can check another time), going in through the oral commissure, to cut the fibrous tethering strands in an arc, in a plane between skin and muscle. This was to release a few linear scars. He then put in some fat underneath the de-tethered scars, using a micro-droplet technique. Just enough to get two gliding planes. He said I had to have the fat, or the scar would re-tether without something between the skin and muscle. Maybe a suitable surgeon with experience could go in through the alar for you?
Your surgeon's suggestion sounds like subcision, poking under the scar from above the skin, which from my reading takes a lot of goes to get an improvement.

You could try a 1.5 mm needle dermaroller with the highest strength Tazarotene or Tretinoin gels every 4-6 weeks. Might take a long time but it's cheap. Ask your doctor.
