Hi.

I've added the sub topic of "Hair Care" in here for those who want to discuss hair, hair treatments and hair products. Ryan, (who knows a lot about hair care) can answer some of your questions.

Any shampoos or gels good for adding volume to hair?

Can't use products with alcohol on scalp.

One trick that Kenneth used to do was final rinse in water as cold as you can stand.

I thought cold water was to give less volume as to contract the hair shaft. That's what I do to make my hair less volumous because it is too volumous: Cold water rinse with cider vinegar.

one thing that I know for sure is that , coloring thin hair helps, give a more voluminous look and feel
because it roughens up the cuticle, the higher the Volume of peroxide, the wide diameter hair strand will be, because cuticle wont retract to original state.
it will close bit not as it was before procedure.

I no longer use store bought shampoo. After reading Riquette Hofstein's book, I started to make my own. I used to use bar soap to clean my hair and whatever was cheap and my scalp eventually started to dry out and even feel like it was about to combust in flames because of how dry everything was. I also had these rashes on my head that I couldn't stop itching at. I eventually picked up Hofstein's book and tried out the recipes and I don't know if it's just a pscyhological thing or what, but my head has never felt better. I feel moisturized and the stimulators that she talks about make my head feel awesome. It could easily be a psychological thing though, but I feel like it has helped me a lot. I'm not going to lie though, the steps are tedious but I've learned to multitask to save time. I guess when you go from bar soap and dishwashing soap to shampoos, stimulators, and hair masks it might seem like a cumbersome process. I have all the recipes saved on my laptop so if you guys want me to post them I can. She's a big fan of using natural ingredients, herbs and natural oils are what most of the recipes consist of. Her book is for balding or thinning hair. I'm not balding...yet...but it has helped my dry scalp. I can't tell you about if it has restored my hair because I'm not bald enough to see any real difference.

kk25,

There are actually a lot of steps to the whole process. Shampoos, stimulators, and treatments you can use once a week. The steps are written on the other laptop so I'll post them sometime either tonight or tomorrow if I can get my hand on it.

I'm having to let my hair grow out to salt and pepper. My allergy to PPD is outrageous and I'm afraid to risk dying for the sake of having no grey hair. I'm saddened over it and hate the thought, but I would rather be alive and grey than gasping/dying for air with nicely colored hair. *Sigh*
