KK, I think what you are experiencing is completely normal at first, its pretty hard to deal with though. I used zinc cream to soothe my skin when it became irritated =).

I always thought that you were supposed to avoid moisturisers when using retin-a??

I have been using Philosophy's Help Me retinoid/vitamin C cream lately and haven't had any irritation (rare for my very sensitive skin) and have already noticed some smoothing after 1 week. It isn't as strong as presciption creams, but it may be a good stepping stone to work up to and alternate with prescrption creams while your skin adjusts.

Thanks Barbie Girl, Ill give it a shot as soon the skin goes back to normal.

right now I am only using some cheap soap bar from Mexico, so far it looks like its helping because the crinkly
cheek part is almost gone, just have a dime size area on top of the cheekbone that still looks crinkly when I smile
hopefully in couple of weeks it will go away.

I didnt continue the Retin A use, I found it to be to strong for me.

Kimberly, thanks for the response it sure helped me calm down , and I am very glad to hear that it was a normal phase
during retin A use, in my case I think I cant handle the peeling, burning, shiny and crinkly part of it.
