Hey Guys - especially DC:

I got a free blowout at Sephora's - as they needed models to try out the "Full hair" product - though I had to buy the product - which I don't mind since I use the whole line - I actually thought that I would not be a candidate for this as I have thick hair - but I wanted the blowout so I told them that my hair gets skimpy during the winter - anyway I was amazed at how it changed my hair to even more volume - and it is not rough feeling or "crunchy" - totally natural - I had it done yesterday and last night I "wrapped" my hair as my black friends have taught me to do and which I now do all the time - and this morning my hair was still full and sexy, with a "swing" to it - now it could be that the person who was blowdrying my hair "lifted" it with her brush while drying it - which is a technique they use to give volume - but I have had that done to me in the past and I have not had the volume I now have - so I think this is a WINNER - and I think you should try it DC - Sephora has an awesome return policy if you don't like it - I hope I run into MissJ so she can give me her honest opinion -

I tried it and didn't like it but I think it's just not for my hair type. I have very thin, soft hair and lots of extensions so I have plenty of hair but need more volume at the top. I can't stand anything that makes my hair less soft which this did but I guess that's expected of thickeners. It didn't make my hair crunchy or sticky. I didn't notice any extra fullness, if anything I think it may have weighed my hair down. I usually let me hair air dry but I may give it another try and see how it works when blowdrying.

How do you wrap your hair at night? No matter what I try to do to my hair at night I always have to rewet in the morning so the waves can form again.

Anna:

Sorry you did not have my experience of it - however I think it is because you did not use Heat with it - it says that on the bottle - also re "wrapping" it is mostly done to maintain a blowout so that the hair does not get waves - you basically take a brush and starting from the side of the head you brush the hair to the opposite side and then around the back and back to the front and then secure it with bobby pins - it is tricky to learn to do and needs practice but once you get it its amazing how it maintains a blowout - sometimes even after 2 weeks - I hate to admit it but once I did just that - since I was sick and did not want to wash my hair - I don't sweat that much since I don't exercise rigorously so it was not a problem - I have been wrapping for almost a year and since this allows me to go longer (upto a week) without shampooing my hair the quality of my hair has improved so much that people have started commenting - besides the spokesperson for nofrizz at Sephora's told me that just using their products alone strengthens the hair and improves it - I know every spokesperson says that about their products and I don't believe them but in this case I do because of the ingredients in the products - MissJ would know more about this

Laz, are you doing their 'trial' of the root lifter? They emailed and asked me to participate in a study (by the nofrizz company)of their new root lifting product. They are sending me two products to use, one in one color bottle and another in a different colored bottle. After I do the trial, I have to fill out surveys on my experience with each product. Then, at the end of the trial and after I've finished the surveys, they will send me a free bottle of the volume stuff (this one that you like).

Larazelle, thanks for the description, I'll try that when I straighten my hair next time. I wish I could go up to a week without washing my hair. I used to be able to do 3, soemtimes 4 days but now it's up to every other day ever since I switched to sulfate free shampoo although my hair is noticably healthier. I think it's because my hair is so thin the oil really shows up. I use the nofrizz shampoo and even though they say its supposed to let you go longer between washes I havent noticed a diffrence. Works great for frizz though.

Lazarelle

do the review again after you do the hair on your own, that way you'll see how the product really works.

DCNGA - Lucky you - I got no such e-mail - I don't know who chose you and on what basis - did you fill out a survey for people with thin hair? They know I have full kinda wavy hair as they have seen me in the office - I think you will like the volume stuff - its also expensive ($24) so good for you !!!

KK25 - you are right - but I don't have the product since I decided to spend my $24 on the straightening lotion instead - I actually did not expect to see a positive result with this on my hair, since I already have full hair - in fact I thought I would end up having "Big Hair" - but the effect was subtle - and judging from the comments from my boyfriend and roommate it seems to have suited me

Laz, I wrote to them several months ago when I tried the straightening cream/spray to say that I was not overly thrilled with the products as they tended to dull and weigh down my hair (since it is fine). They must have kept my info in their files and contacted me or else it was when I signed up on their website for info on the thickening spray that coming out. Not really sure which. I just got an email week before last inviting me to fill out some info to see if I was chosen to test the root lifting spray. I was chosen and they notified me late last week. The downside is I have to wash my hair every other day (3 times a week) for two weeks. I normally only wash it once every four days as it stays pretty straight and I only have to touch up occasionally with the flat iron during those five days.

Laz, I got my freebie of the Full for completing their trial of another product they are coming out with (or at least market testing). I'm not so happy with the Full though. It tends to make my hair heavy and a tad 'greasy' looking. Ugh. Oh well, won't complain too much about a freebie.
