This is a random post but I notice that there are some songs that I just really connect to emotionally for whatever reason. Just wanted to share a few and am curious what you all feel a connection to... OK, I'm in uncharted water here ... and have never heard of these tunes that you list (but then where I live is a cave wrapped in a time warp inside the '60s). Santana. Jethro Tull. Cat Stevens (now Yusuf Islam). Pink Floyd. Who. Led Zeppelin. OK, and Chris Isaak. And - here I blush - "Long May You Run" Neil Young. So it was written about his '48 Packard Woody. I like the tune. It's sweet.

Absolutely beautiful, uplifting, and I like the way "my friend" is left open to interpretation.
PS- Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin? I guess I took "emotionally attached" differently. Now I look like a sap.

It's so cheesy but if I ever get married I would like to walk down the aisle to those parts I mention in the swimming pool song.

Here's my advice in general to young women~ One tragic love affair, assuming you survive~ are the best memories when you get old, have babies and grandbabies.
He and I still see each other every few years and even tho we married twice, we were too (something) to make it work for long.
Oh, back to the off topic topic, I'm listening to alot of Warren Zevon right now~and I'm smiling!

Oh of course! That WAS fantastic, I LOVED Claire, and loved how in the end it all ended up being about her. She was so beautiful in those scenes in the car, and what a great actress. Pretty certain she had a nosejob and chin augmentation at some point late in the series.

But it was just so fitting to the show that you would see their birth and death year since every episode opened that way. I LOVE Michael C. Hall and he is amazing as Dexter.

I wasn't a Liszt fan when I was young, in fact I had zero tolerance, but then I got old and I changed my attitude. This one really kills me, melts my bone marrow. The pianist, Boris Berezovsky isn't bad, either. It's an unusually athletic performance of the 4th transcendental etude, AKA Mazeppa. I adore the demented haunted house quality. I used to live up the street from Franz Liszt. LOL, he was dead at the time--I mean I used to live up the street from the house he used to live in. He lived in a nice little town in Hungary right near the Austrian border.
Can hardly walk. Need hip replacement.

He was a hot babe most of his life, the original rock star with tons of swooning groupies. He had a profile to die for, too, and even in his 70s he had teenagers threatening suicide over him. All this means nothing in the face of his compositions though. I am not sure why it took me so long to appreciate him, I guess I was unable to overlook all that tremolo and bombastic virtuosity. There is actual music underneath it all, and it is really superb.
