Yeah, ChrisK...where the f*ck ARE you? Wait...where the f*ck am I? Hang on....oh, he's here in the rabbit hole with me. We're "over-wintering", trying to restore our sadly depleted energy and life-force and waiting for the new Alice in Wonderland movie to come out. Johhny Depp looks pretty fierce!! Love you guys...just 'been a loooong December and there's reason to believe maybe this year will be better than the last'....* *courtesy of The Counting Crows

I love that postcard - somehow it conjures up "House" to me. Very atmospheric! And talk about "over-wintering". I blame myself for not escaping to Micronesia - somewhere, ANYwhere - for a couple months this winter. H1N1 paranoia got the better of me. Now I sit here, all vaccinated, and my life on hold ... my poor ol' mammy took a nasty fall and I am slated to play nursemaid for some time. It's what happens when you hit 85. Fall, that is. I shall be ready for that asylum soon. I know it. I Bug U

At this point, I wish I could move in there as constant construction in my building (since summer mind you), is driving me crazy.

Are you STILL having to put up with all that noise? I am so sorry. It would nearly drive me mad too. When will it end? You should get a reduction in rent with all that palaver going on..

It's still going on and with no let up. I'm sleep deprived and my nerves are acting up.

MissJ, go talk to the project foreman, manager, call-him-what-you-will. Ask for the timeline on this construction project. If you are in a condo, I'm guessing the homeowners assoc may have progress reports, but this is NUTS to go from month to month without peace and quiet! I remember a townhouse complex I lived in had the roof replaced, and that dragged on about 3 months. Not only was the hammering and yammering driving me out of my skull, but the banging and bonging on the roof stirred about a million termites out of their nests!! Ye gads. It was like a Luis Bunuel movie! My sister-in-law was over at my place, and we dashed around for hours with fly swatters and towels eliminating these foot-long flying termites. I thought I would die! I've asked and they don't answer with any timeline other than to say it has been 'taking longer than planned'. Like it was supposed to start in August and end maybe in Late september. The super in the NEXT building said that when he asked them (as the MESS they leave bothers his tenants), they have always "lied". They just recite: 'Oh , it's legal to start work at 7am' and that is despite my telling them it has made my health condition worse. Despite trying to go to bed early--I'm finding that the people across bang late at night to to around 3 am--they thump around. Like they are noisier, now knowing the unit across the hall from them (the one above my head where the construction crew bangs early in morning) is empty. Like now they don't worry about making noise to bother the tenant across from them as she moved out. She was quiet as a mouse though.
