[quote=Ryan]. You could sense that she was very conscious of having those heels on at times.
Absolutely. If she had taken off the heels, she could have done more dancing rather than just strutting up and down those steps. Like A Prayer saved the show- although when she was on her knees it looked like she was too tired to get back up. The other songs were strange picks and I'm not a fan of lip-syncing. Tom Petty was so much better.

Compared to other halftime shows, this was an amazing production. I thought Madonna looked great and if she had pulled hamstrings, her dancing was impressive. She was most likely singing along with backing tracks but she's always done that. She does have somewhat of a cold onstage persona but hey, she's Madonna and she rocked it regardless. "Like a Prayer" sent shivers down my spine and put a lump in my throat with the lighting and the World Peace at the end. I watched it on youtube this morning just to see that again. Awesome.

Awesome. 100% agree. She looked really good too. She does come off cold though but she's worked hard for her success and isn't going to be all apologetic about it. Amazing show and they'll have a hard time topping that. You KNOW next year's halftime entertainment is going to have to be in a barnyard full of plaid and denim and American flags with a few rusty trucks thrown in for atmosphere, lol.

Ha!! Loved the show, too....I was ready for something over the top and she delivered. OK..next year I vote for George Clooney and the Soggy Bottom Boys singing "Man of Constant Sorrow". ;-)

It's pretty amazing to see how her facial proportions have shifted from just a few years ago.

Yeah, she really filled in her buccal fat area, but the stache and beard are still there. I think that that's ONE stache that isn't going ANYWHERE! I even did a reading on it.

She even rounded out her jawline since then. She has got so much stuff in her face, she really needs to stop. Lucky for her she has really big eyes, otherwise they'd be missing by now.

OMG I hadn't noticed just how much her buccal area has been padded out. I would love filler in that area, - wonder if it's fat or filler? The difference is amazing, xx

Nobody else was put off by the lip syncing? I was waiting for RuPaul to come on and tell her "shante - you stay" at the end. The performance was good...but about what I expected for someone of her caliber who has performed 1000 times with a team of at least 100 choreographers, dancers, lighting people, etc. Insiders claim she sang live in rehearsal but the voice was pre-recorded during the actual performance. I don't blame her - nobody could sing and do those moves in those conditions (it's cold and windy - hard to sing pitch perfect). Gaga's performances are sometimes awful because she DOES sing live...and you hear her breathing and wheezing into the mic toward the end.

The whole game the announcers were talking about the fact that the game might be decided by the kickers. AND that the kickers wouldn't to worry about wind because it is climate control. No kicking it into the wind and missing the goal. The Super Bowl is alway covered. Not leaving the biggest game of year up to chance with weather. 121 million viewers.

Oh i didn't realize that. But does that mean you thought she sang live? I was watching fairly close up in HDTV and the breathing and lips weren't really going together. It's more obvious with the way anyone would have sort of a "recovery" breath or two from some of those dance moves (at any age) but there was no dip in the lyric annunciation or vocal quality at any point. It was just like a studio recorded track...with the pitch even adjusted slightly higher than her normal voice.
The weird thing is that she supposedly did sing in rehearsal, in front of people I know who were watching and heard it.

When Wacko Jacko did the superbowl, it was open stadium. That was only year the ratings for halftime were higher than for game itself.
