I'm sure many of you saw this story a few yrs ago. This is the woman after surgery last year. In one interview she says. " You may be beautiful now, but one day it may all be taken away, you never know".
I know most of us want to improve our appearance, but for those who are very unhappy & think they are ugly.. This
can make you realize you are not as bad as you think & if you were disfigured, you might just be happy to be alive.
I guess that's not easy to see when people feel miserable about their appearance.

I'm amazed on how the surgeons were able to do all they did. She can't see well but not blind.

Oy. I am sickened at her immediate dilemma: hubs released from prison. Restraining order? Yeah, right. He is some kinda sick phuk alright.

Following her story as it unfolded, I can only be dumbstruck at what some humans have to endure during one's precious life here and now.

She does not look that bad! She has a fabulous nose, eyes are nearly normal (glad she has some vision left), just needs some lower face/mouth fine-tuning. But geez. I think she has WAY larger issues on her platter now than even achieving a degree of "normalcy" in her face.

I am UTTERLY humbled by this courageous woman. Makes one wonder about the grand plan in our universe, tho.

I wish I believed in reincarnation and the karmic balance of things. But. I do not.

It's true and a good reminder. Since turning 47 I have obsessed daily about skin aging, how my past lifestyle has led me to this current state and dealing with those regrets. Tragic stories like this definitely help put things into perspective. Oprah had a couple of women on her show who were similarly attacked by their partners, burned or shot, and those women's stories were also quite humbling. Thanks for posting.
