Feh. I'm taking up HOCKEY. And I want Marten on the opposite team, know what I'm sayin'? Lol. Exactly what I am thinking. I'm on the next flight to San Francisco to challenge Tim Marten to a hockey game. I'm going to skate around with my neck held high and hope for a clean cut.

Well, a hit to the nose can leave 2 black eyes. People with rhinos often get 2 black eyes. So, he could have been hit in the nose. Thing is, some of his yellow bruising near his crows feet seems to be outside of the 'black eye area'. Let's see if he looks 'refreshed' in a few weeks after this hockey mishap. LOL

LOL Is it common for someone hit in the nose to have the cartilage and bone shaved along most of the nose length? Apparently Kerry's office didn't feel it was necessary to disclose whether he'd been admitted to the hospital for observation, or even where he was transported after experiencing this traumatic head injury. Surely a neurological evaluation and a scan would be part of the work-up to check for normal cognitive function and internal bleeding. I wonder what medical facility that took place at?

Exactly- two symmetrical black eyes with yellowing extending to the crows feet with a thin incision line at the precise spot a bleph would be in and some shaved down cartilage. All of this and no reports of him being rushed to an ER and the tests that would have ensued. It looks like a duck and quacks like a duck. Hmmm. Quack quack.

I thought Sen. Kerry gave up hockey for wind-sailing years ago.

I still remember her delivering that "I am an African American" line during her speech at the 2004 convention. She also delivered remarks to the audience in no fewer than five languages.

Mike, his situation is about as probable as you landing long on the shortest runway at SFO due to a strong tailwind, which forces you to slam on the brakes, which forces your face to slam against the cockpit dashboard (because you forgot to wear your seat belt), which breaks your nose and injures both eyes. After landing, you decline medical treatment. Instead, you take the situation into your own hands by boarding the next Super Shuttle up to the city and having Dr. Marten do a repair. You had no idea that Dr. Marten was a top ps, because you'd only heard about his skill through a physician-friend who knew Dr. Marten back when he was a resident. So there's your Kerry cover story if you ever need one. Anyway, I give Kerry credit for having the balls to show his face at the White House and the State of the Union so soon after surgery, especially when he knew that the media would be there.

I was surprised he didn't use any concealer at the State of the Union, or any public appearances for that matter. I guess he felt like concealer would have been a dead giveaway for surgery as opposed to a hockey injury.

And yes he does deserve some credit for having the balls for showing up in public and also kudos to him for having surgery to freshen up his looks (if he did in fact do this for cosmetic reasons, which he did with 99.9% certainty).
I went out in public with black eyes after my fat grafting, but I wore a nasal splint and told everyone that I had deviated septum surgery. So I guess Kerry wouldn't be the first to pull this.

aaa---it could be 6 of 1 and half dozen of other deal with Kerry. Like he could have been hit in nose with hockey stick and got those black eyes or he could have had a bleph. We just have to wait and see if his eyes are 'refreshed' after a few weeks from this 'hockey stick' injury.

We just have to wait and see if his eyes are 'refreshed' after a few weeks from this 'hockey stick' injury. Well, apparently it wasn't even a hockey stick injury... The Massachusetts Democrat, 68, was sporting two black eyes and a broken nose — the result, his office said, of a recent pick-up hockey game with family and friends.
Who — or what — hit him? Aides were vague on details; no word on where the game took place, if he sought treatment or how he got whacked. Kerry’s been banged up before on the ice: He attributed his ‘09 hip surgery and ‘05 knee surgery to the rigors of hockey and other sports; before he entered Congress he had jaw surgery for a bad bite exacerbated by a run-in with a goal post (though some cynics noted it coincidentally made him more handsome).
Update 4:20 p.m.: No stick, puck or fist is to blame for the senator’s shiners: We’ve learned that the injury happened when he fell amid a multi-player pile-up during an annual game with friends around New Year’s. It required a couple stitches, and he’ll be back on the ice this winter — but probably with a mask from now on. source
So let me guess...next year he's involved in another "multi-player pile-up," only this time after falling to the ground his friend's ice skates cut his face right in front of both ears, thus necessitating stitches that mimic those of a facelift. For chrissake, this guy had cosmetic max fac surgery back in 1985!! He's 25 years ahead of his time. He should be an administrator on this forum--"Mr. J"--giving us advice!!

It reminds me of the time that Michael Douglas went out in public with fresh facelift incisions and stitches. His publicist said that he had lesions removed from around his ears.

He has had some max fax surgery for his lantern jaw. I'm surprised he did not get that when he was younger though. Well, maybe not a hockey stick but gist is that one CAN get 2 black eyes from a nose injury. So, a pile up in hockey is also something where someone could bang up their nose and get 2 black eyes. As I said, I'm waiting for his eyes to look more 'refreshed' later down the line to convince myself 'for sure' he had a bleph. However, he does seem to have the yellow bruising outside of the 'black eye'area. I guess it boils down to my believing his story 50% where the other 50% goes to bleph. saveface wrote:Well, apparently it wasn't even a hockey stick injury... Yes. He found out that when the boom hits, it isn't as precise an outcome for eye bleph and nose job as a common ol' hockey stick. ============================== garner wrote:I thought Sen. Kerry gave up hockey for wind-sailing years ago. I Bug U
