Admittedly, "Law and Order SVU" is not on my regular list of viewing material, but for some reason I was at a loose end last night so I watched it.
It wasn't until today that I realized hunky Christopher Meloni wasn't on the show anymore, because I was so consumed trying to figure out what the hell happened to Mariska Hargitay's face (and body). Her face looks huge, like she's used fillers or sculptra or joint cement or something to define her jawline. She looks like a freakin' lion. She's also gained a lot of weight. A, uh, lot.
She's only 47 and according to all her interviews she abhors plastic surgery and would never do it. Yeah, right.
And not to be catty or anything, but Jesus, does her husband have Dengue fever in that photo or is he just coming off heroin? I posted it as a reference for her . . . it was taken about five years ago.
What happened?

looks to me like the weigh gain is responsible for her facial bloat... and no PS. She is of the age where stuff does start to "fall".
And ya know.... she doesn't look overweight, just normal. Which looks fat by hollywood standards.

She's gained about 50 pounds. Considering that, she still has a shape and she doesn't look too horrible on camera.

Her Mom was GORGEOUS on film, especially with the right lighting .

Yeah, she was. Amazingly so. Mariska's face just looks so odd to me, it just seems so big now. I saw Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek's Captain Katherine Janeway) on something, I think Warehouse 9, not too long ago, and her's was the same way. These faces didn't start out that way. I guess you guys are right though and it's just age and weight gain.
And will someone tell me why some of my posted photos will show up in the body of the post, while others have to be "clicked" on to open? Drives me nuts.

No kidding? I love Maria Bello. I actually thought Mariska and her husband were quite conservatively religious, as in no premaritial sex, no contraception, and well, no same-sex shenanigans . . . but when did that ever stop anyone. Come to think of it, Mariska does look a bit lesbeonic. Dang, M-Squared sure would have been a great looking couple, light years hotter than Portia and Ellen. That's too bad.

Well, I think her father the weightlifter champion guy was very religious - very Catholic I believe. Then she grew up without her mother who died tragically. I think she grew up in very religious home. I think that is why she married a man who is also is similar situation and they have an "open marriage" so to speak. Maria Bello is def Bi. She leans though more toward the gals.

And I think that her keeping, (or not modifying too greatly) her imperfect nose, has thrown people off the PS scent.

"Pretty and plump" comes to mind as I see her in the bean green suit. I know I'd get to the gym with a bod like that. But then I have other issues that require duct tape, not free weights.

^^^^ Argh! And let's not talk about the crepey skin on the INSIDE of the elbows shall we? I used to notice them on my orthodontist when I was lying back in the chair (circa age 44) and HE was about my age. I just do NOT like being frog-marched down the gangplank to .... THAT!
