Well, the scene `in question` was an extreem closeup of Vivian (face only) talking to herself sort of angry. This was towards the last 3rd of the movie. My husband actually pointed it out first and to my eye it looked like fine but dark hair growing over the lip. ie a bit more and longer at the sides of the lip. On our screen, it clearly looked like hairs, not just a dark patch. I can imagine a tiny detail like this would have been overlooked in such a huge long epic movie, if it was even consdered an issue to begin with. And fwiw, we only saw it in this one scene. But I understand people being sceptical without me putting up a photo!

No one has come close to her. Too bad her talent and beauty couldn't overcome her other problems.

Leigh was delicate wrapped in FIRE! I think that's what made her so perfect to play Scarlett, dah-lings. Those green eyes would flirt then FRY. She was a cobra, fox and black widow all wrapped into one in that movie. If you've seen "My Week With Marilyn", you'll be stunned to see how self-deprecating she was in front of Monroe. I don't know how Olivier had the chutzpah to balance both of those dames at once. I Bug U

Well, that isn't exactly what happens in the track playing in my head, the penalty is a bit harsher and more, uh, invasive there, but but I'm happy to go along with the PG version. And thank you, Bug, for posting that. For a full five minutes I was back to a simpler time, sitting on my parents green shag carpeting, right in front of their console TV, watching reruns. When Dudley Do-Right was over, I wondered where the music for "I Love Lucy" was, just out of conditioning. It used to come on right afterwards. I honestly haven't seen or thought of Dudley in a very, very long time. I didn't realize how much I missed him.

Another beauty from that era is Gene Tierney.

It's interesting, my Mom always talked about how beautiful Gene Tierney was, but she isn't remembered today the way many other actresses of that era are.

In relative terms, she didn't work as much as most of the others. She had a severe drinking problem, plus she made it big just as movies started declining because of tv. Interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gene_Tierney

Interesting bio, I would love to catch all of her "film noir" stuff (my favorite genre). She reminds me a bit of Diane Lane with her "open faced" look.

Interestingly, several of the greatest beauties of that era, Vivien Leigh, Gene Tierney and Hedy Larmar, suffered from very severe mental issues later in life. So sad. Loved Gene Tierney in "Laura"
