kk25 - good point! You do have to sterilize the humidifier from time to time when it's in use. I think I'd just use distilled water for that - but it could get expensive if you fill up the tank every night.
At the minimum, wash that tank out weekly with soapy water, and if there is a removable filter, treat that, too. Or even replace it.
