My skin looks great here lately, and I think it's largely because of AmLactin. It took me a while to build up a tolerance, but now, every night, I slather that stuff all over my face and neck after using ROC's Multi Correction Night Cream. (Yeah, I realize that the ROC stuff is nothing but retinol SA and vitamin c, but I just can't hack the prescription retinoids. They dry me out too badly.)
Nothing has ever worked better as a moisturizer for me than the AmLactin. No kidding. On some nights I'll even use another moisturizer on top, usually Eucerin Moisture Cream, and the results the next day are astonishing. They're better than the results from that horribly expensive RODIN olio lusso Facial Oil my mom raves about. And the odd part is that I've even put it on my nose, and I've never put a moisturizer on my nose. I tend to get larger pores there, and I didn't want to exacerbate them. But the AmLactin has all but eradicated them. It really is quite astonishing and at under twenty bucks, definintely worth a try. But go to AmLactin's website and print out the coupon first. It'll save you a few dollars.

My derm swears by it for dry skin. It's great on the arms too. It has lactic acid in it.

Only downside is that it stinks to high heaven. My feet tend to be a bit manky from running everyday, and it really works there, too.

Yes, that and 'Lac Hydran' are very good products.

I love AmLactin. You are right- it's a great value. I have used it all over my body for years and it has paid off. I havent used it on my face yet, but should give it a try a few times a week.

If you use it on your face once, you'll be hooked. The next morning your skin will be glowing. You do have to build up slowly though. Start with a small amount, and be especially careful on your neck.

Derms with no vested interest in selling stuff marketed to derms to sell, often recommend that product for skin. It's a good Alpha Hydroxy lotion. It looks great! I haven't ever seen it here but will pick some up the next time I'm in the States.

I was wondering if all the AmLactin lotions contain mineral oil. I'm not sure mineral oil would be good for the face, seems like it might clog pores.

Copied and pasted from AmLactin's website: Ingredients: Water, lactic acid neutralized with ammonium hydroxide, light mineral oil, glyceryl stearate, PEG-100 stearate, propylene glycol, glycerin, magnesium aluminum silicate, laureth-4, polyoxyl 40 stearate, cetyl alcohol, methylparaben, propylparaben and methylcellulose.

BlueSky-
Mineral Oil is "non comodegenic," meaning that it does not generally clog pores or cause acne. In some (but few) people it may cause acne, but this is generally not the case. I have used mineral oil gel underneath my shaving creme as a base for years without problems.

There is Am Lactin an Lac Hydrin, which are essentially the same. Mineral oil is an excellent occlusive barrier that cuts down on water loss from the skin.
