You mean the LV with all the initials on it? Those are all over the place. But WHY that one. It's too common. Fake or real--too many people have the ones with the typical initials on them. They are cracking down on fake stuff like that. But I think they still sell in China town NYC.

There are lots of real LV bags on ebay. You can get a genuine used one for alot less than retail.

Or get a used one from a consignment shop. They look better broken in, anyway. IMHO it's difficult to pull off counterfeit merchandise. People in the know can tell. Plus if the rest of your outfit/grooming is not up to the level of the bag, even if it's casual, it looks gauche. There's lots of well made genuine brand bags at better price points. A handsome bag always looks good, no matter what you're teaming it with.

If you want a designer bag either get the real thing or not at all. If you don't want to drop the money at Holts buy a nice bag at the price point you can afford. Sorry, I see fake designer bags all the time and it makes me want to gag. The consignment store idea is a really good one though, there are high end ones out there now with lots of practically new real designer pieces for at a discounted rate.

^^^^ I totally agree. Get the best of anything you can afford (afford being the operative, don't starve to buy a bag) and then take really fastidious care of it. I agree with what Stache had to say as well, a gorgeous bag can be just the thing, the right touch, to make you look pulled-together well. Too many of us know the difference, and knowing this, can make the wearer feel tacky. But hey, if you are one who doesn't care about any of all that, (and good for you, actually, you're likely well-adjusted and just don't give a flying farck what snobs might think) , well by all means, rock that imposter with your confident self! Now I'm giggling, as the bag I carry is no designer, a good quality (buttery) leather, palomino colored sweetlheart of a purse. It's presently FILTHY and I need to work on that; nothing says trash better than a dirty expensive purse, imho.

I have a lv that I have used for years (close to 10) also have other purses But I just like that LV the most because it comes really handy in the winter , is like a multitasker purse I can carry my stuff and also use it to scrape the snow and ice from windshield and car, even with all the abuse and After all those years gets compliments lol

If you feel like renting for a certain occasion; I would try bagborroworsteal.com. I've never tried it but it seems like a good idea

lol Improved! And frankly, the idea of renting a bag (to me anyway) is throwing money away.

If you want a "name" bag that is not so derivative, try Hunting World.

The bag I keep getting the most compliments on lately is my Stella and Dot metallic clutch. I love that little bag and I think I only paid around $160 for it.

Chris love...appreciate your sensibilities...but who can resist a vintage 2003 Murakami? ;-)

Perhaps he's gone into shoe-making full time and he's going to be the next great shoe designer!
