I was filling out forms to go to an accupuncturist today and she wanted me to list all scars on my body no matter how faint. So I had to list all my surgeries, etc.

I asked her why she needed to know this and she said that chi has problems passing through scar tissue and it affects different parts of the body. She said she worked on an abdominal scar a woman had who came in complaining of shoulder pain and she "needled" the scar for several sessions and her shoulder problem cleared up.

It made me wonder about how our scars are affecting our general health.

Location: i just turned over a new leaf to reveal the same t
well they say trauma sites (scars) can stop, block or slow energy.

possibly true but "you" probably have more power over those areas than an accupuncturist imo

Thanks Miss J.I thought it was interesting to read that this scar technique was not found in the original accupuncture journals. It was also a bit unnernving to reveal my plastic surgeries to someone other than a plastic surgeon. When it came to talking about the rhino the accupuncturist said..."Oh I had that done too when I was 16 and I've had trouble breathing ever since including exposed blood vessels which have caused me nose bleeds."She wanted my surgeons name!

One thing I did notice after my facelift was real exhaustion for around 6 weeks. My chi was definitely not flowing!

Well mine has not been flowing right ever since I was a kid and my mother forced me to write with my right hand as I was naturally left handed. My acupuncture doc (a while back in Hungary) told me I was 'cross wired' because I was naturally left handed and was forced that way. Hence my chi blockages. I won't be getting acupuncture like that doc around here. He was good. He would hook all the needles up to an extra electric current machine.

wow..I thought that practice of suppressing the left hand dominance had stopped in my father's generation. His parents did the same to him and he's bipolar 2 and I don't think he inherited that disease.
On the other hand (pun intended), it seems to me you have a good balance and development of your left and right brain...analytical and artistic.A lovely combination.

Well, this happened in the late 1950's in my case. Although I'm good artistically and analytically, my 'energy' is still screwed up in the sense that it often attracts the 'wrong' things at the 'wrong' time--timing interference-- and in a flukey way.

I'm not sure if this addresses your timing interference but it addresses the way things are:

"If you are really preparing for the reality of human existence, preparing for groundlessness, you are living on the razor's edge, and you must become used to the fact that things shift and change. Things are not certain and they do not last and you do not know what is going to happen. If you start to have a direct honest relationship with reality, you know you're asking for trouble because it's not always going to congratulate you, it's not going to confirm you, it's not going to be convenient. And in the process you learn how life itself pulls out the rug."
~ Pema Chodron, from this lovely article No Right, No Wrong, (slightly edited)

when is first read the title of your thread i thought that you had gotten burnt with a CHI flat iron and that you got a Scar as consecuence but i see that is not the case.

as for the other CHI one of my friends does something called tapping/affirmations and she says that it helps her tremendously, she recommended me a book but i cant remember the name now
