i don't think there is anything that can be done to prevent it from scarring,
i tried a bunch of stuff on new pits and they scarred regardless

I don't break out often, but when I do strong salicylic acid peels really seem to help prevent scarring and post-inflammatory macules a lot. Might be worth a try.

Don't people use TCA crosses for those? Some technique where you make a cross with TCA over the pit. You would have to Google for details of it though. It's something they talk about on some acne forum.
