Ah, of course -- I forgot they'd had that second child! I meant that I thought their first baby was also from a surrogate...maybe she didn't feel like going through the rigmarole of pretend pregnancy a second time.

I remember that an early case of a celebrity hiring a surrogate was Deidre Hall. I think that she said medical reasons prevented her from conceiving and/or carrying a child. So she had found a woman who looked very similar to her, and then artificial insemination was performed. I think that happened before the days when they could take your egg out, fertilize it, and then plant it into another woman's womb. Or, maybe she was really post-menopausal. Her true age remains a mystery, helped by Days of our Lives' use of a very blurry lens every time the camera soft-focuses on Deidre.
LOL at the use of the word "outsourcing" above. But I guess it does make sense. If you're a performer, morning sickness, bed rest, and lack of mobility could interfere with your work. But faking it seems crazy! Especially after you made a huge deal out of your baby bump during a performance on a major televised awards show.

Nicole allegedly has endo, so that is probably a big reason for her adoptions and using a surrogate for 3 of her 4 children. It seems so silly for someone to fake a pregnancy... why would they be so ashamed of their choice that they felt like they had to hide it?
