In Life Extension magazine there was an article about a new procedure to improve the appearance of her breast which had deflated after a lumpectomy and especially radiation used to treat her breast cancer a decade ago .They took out more fat than needed from her abdomen using the extra adipose stem cells and combining the cells into the fat then they injected it into her breast. They also used this combo and placed it in her neck to smooth it out.I couldn't find anything on the web about her doing this so I couldn't give a link. She is very happy with the procedure...not sure how long ago it was done so the long-term retention is still unknown.

I read the article also. I had no idea how much damage radiation can cause to breast tissue. She seemed very pleased with the results.
I was wondering if she had the stem cells placed in her face as well as her neck. Not too long ago her face was looking very strange.

The magazine is online ... but I was unable to find that article about Somers' breast rejuvenation. The placement of fat in the breast has been going on for a while, but I thought it sometimes calcified and/or made the mammygrams harder to read? Placing fat in the neck area seems brilliant .. hope it works out for her! I Bug U

Coleman and others have been offering fat grafting to the breasts for some time now, but as Bug says, it does make mammograms really tricky to read. I would guess that it would be fine if used after a mastectomy when there was no inner breast tissue left anyhow. Other than that, if it made future imaging more difficult than sili or saline would, I don't see what the advantage would be. I guess using fat might have the advantage of looking more natural since it is natural, but just like any other procedure, even that would be injector dependent.

Suzanne said she didn't want anything foreign in her body so she opted for fat.I think adding the extra stem cells to the fat may be a newer technique or at least that's how it was presented.

Dr. Lam said the fat in the neck doesn't seem to last and you need such a large amount there to fill it out.In Suzanne's case, the added stem cells are supposed to make it last but time will tell.

At the risk of sounding ribald, tacky and perhaps lower than a snake's belly .... how does Ms Somers and her hubby have a good time then? There's only so much you can do with fat. watchthemoon wrote:
