We've posted plenty of Elle in the past but I just can't get over how good she looks lately. Definitely doesn't look 48.
It looks like she puts filler all around her orbital rim. There's a pillowy look around her whole eye.

I sorta' thought that had fallen out of favor, that it wasn't considered to be particularly efficacious anymore. No? I've had fractionated co2 done not just under my eyes but all over my face and the results were, thankfully for me, quite remarkable. People in the freakin' grocery store would tell me what great skin I had, but the effects are short lived. Whether or not my skin today looks any better than it would have had I not done the procedure I don't know . . . but I never thought it did much for the fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes. Which, thank god, are quite few. For now.

Well CO2 has mostly fallen out of favor due to downtime and depigmentation. But IT WORKS. My PS actually called in an associate to look at my skin, he said it was highly unusual for someone my age to have no wrinkles under my eyes. Well that's where I had CO2 in 1996.....I had wrinkles that NEVER came back.

I had CO2 laser twice in the 90's. It was the worst recovery and down time but I'm always getting compliments on my skin. One plastic surgeon said that it was the gold standard. I think it's only fallen out of favor because of the recovery but it was extremely effective.

CO2 is amazing. the downtime can be long with the bright pink skin and all but i do think its the gold standard for laser resurfacing.

good post op care is essential.

Wow, I didn't know the CO2 laser was so effective under the eyes. I've dismissed lasers because of the fat loss issues people have had, but this is exciting. CO2 lasers aren't associated with fat loss in the face?

I've had some fat loss, but don't really know whether it was the CO2, lower bleph or general aging. However, I loved the CO2 because it got rid of wrinkles I've had since eighteen AND it lightened my persistant dark circles. I had some fat grafting to the undereye area and now couldn't be happier. It's been 97 or so and still going strong. Laser that is.

I asked my PS about my fat loss under the eyes and he says it's due to the lower bleph rather than the laser. But if you are worried about that, I believe you can get the same dramatic effect on wrinkles with a phenol peel.

I had no fat loss with the CO2 laser and I've had it done twice. That's what's so wonderful about it. The lasers that came after might have had that effect but not the plain old CO2.
