Hey guys - MissJ and myself are going in on Careprost and thinking of getting it from ADC - However I remember hearing rumors of fraud with ADC - I worry about on-line purchases that are out of the US. Here is a good link on being safe: http://www.pcworld.com/article/230452/four_safer_ways_to_pay_online.htmlI have heard of Unitedpharmacies.com - they sell Careprost for $22.00 with $7.50 shipping - they are in Hong Kong - I wonder if it is better quality - I am always careful of stuff coming from India - who knows how safely they store their stuff - one has this concern as it is extremely HOT in India - this could affect the quality of the stuff - Has anyone here been ordering a LONG TIME with ADC and are they happy with their purchases Hotels in Cleveland

Okay, I know nothing about ADC so cannot comment. In looking up Careprost (generic Latisse, basically), I found this post and the side effects are also also listed on Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BimatoprostI'm not sure that the possible fat loss trade-off under my eyes would be worth longer lashes. And, I had never heard of this as a possible side-effect either. YeeGads! Pros: -In clinical trials, it was found to increase eyelash length by 25%, thickness and fullness by 106% and darkness by 18%. They also found no darkening of eyelids or irises (see the cons section) -The results look amazing. These are the girls from the website: Cons: -Has been found to PERMANENTLY darken the skin around the eyes and irises (so be careful those who have blue/green eyes). However, this has only been found at higher concentrations than that in Latisse. -Hair can grow in areas which experience repeated contact -Can cause itchy, red eyes -If you stop using the solution, your eyelashes will return to their previous form - It has been found (on trials) to reduce the fat around the eyes (leading to more wrinkles!) However, again, this appears to reverse when you stop using the solution

I've ordered from ADC and have had NO problems. I think it's possible to just buy a credit card that is a gift card and use that to pay for the stuff. The credit card that is a gift card is $5 extra to buy though. They have them at CVS. The lash growth stuff I bought from ADC worked. It's just that I lost track of my ordering info on their site with the move and have yet to order more. I've also ordered from ADC without problems, but it's been awhile. I don't know if anything has happened in the meantime. I need to reorder...the careprost worked well for me. HTH.

I read a couple of articles on PUBMED - but they were about people who were taking it for glaucoma - which means the drops were placed in the eye - as opposed to what we do - which is just line the base of the eyelashes - but who knows - Hotels in Cleveland

I was thinking about the "fat loss" purportedly seen in some patients who use bimatprost and googled and got this: http://journals.lww.com/op-rs/pages/articleviewer.aspx?year=2008&issue=07000&article=00013&type=abstractI read somewhere else that these were elderly patients - 58+ - so it could just be natural aging - However the article states: A clinical investigation of 5 nonconsecutive patients with unilateral glaucoma treated daily with topical bimatoprost 0.03% for up to 4 years prior to presentation.
so this took at LONG time to present - and they were using it daily - which is NOT something that Latisse users do - Hotels in Cleveland

I've got 2 more years to be "elderly". But this arthritis is giving me a head start on the process, I'll tell ya that. DCNGA wrote:

From the study: Results: In eyes treated with bimatoprost 0.03% the authors noted periorbital fat atrophy, deepening of the upper eyelid sulcus, relative enophthalmos, loss of the lower eyelid fullness, and involution of dermatochalasis compared with the fellow untreated eye. By inspecting old photographs the authors confirmed that these unilateral changes were not present prior to starting bimatoprost. In addition, these changes were partially reversible after discontinuation of the medication, whenever that was possible. In 2 cases imaging studies confirmed the clinical impression that these findings were not related to primary orbital pathology.
So since they say the changes were unilateral, I would not conclude age was a key factor. However it could be an exacerbating factor - Hotels in Cleveland
