Did anyone else watch this on OWN tonight? It was such a sad story, this beautiful girl had sulphuric acid thrown on her face by a hitman hired by a man she had only dated for a couple of weeks. Obviously, she suffered severe burns from the acid and all the skin on her face was removed and replaced with Matriderm and skin grafts. She has had a ton of reconstructive surgery not just on her skin and scarring but also to rebuild her eyelids and nose. She looks really quite good now, especially given the gravity of her injuries. I think it is on again later tonight, for anyone interested. I highly recommend it. Just have lots of tissues, I bawled my eyes out through the entire thing.

No, I didn't see it but I googled her and saw her photographs. What a real tragedy and such a sensless one at that. People are awful. Why did her boyfriend do this to her? Did it say?

Did it say? Apparently because she wouldn't sleep with him after a date a few days prior. He had also raped, beat, held hostage and threatened to kill her after said date. Truly shocking.

This reminds me of the model Marla Hansen. Her landlord had someone slash her face when she rejected his advances.

Yes, I saw that, BG. She was about to cross the street downtown on a bright sunny day and he appeared out of nowhere and threw it in her face. She really had no place to turn to for help but just ran, screaming. She was quite beautiful and for a while had a great fear of men and going out..but finally overcame that and is now helping other victims. I can not understand how a guy would think doing that to someone would make it better for him. That is so sick and downright evil.

To do something like that to someone is absolutely disgusting.

It's terrible I know. She has a book out called; "Beautiful" in which she tells the story.

Onur Erol did some of the final aesthetic repairs on her. Fat injections and eyelid surgery, I think. Makes me want to consult with him.

I have never ever heard of him. Where is he? In the US? Is he a burns specialist?

He is in Istanbul. I met him and he was one of the docs I was wanting for my situation.
