Interesting, I tried to read that book and I was unable to get past the first two chapters. I thought it was horribly written and very boring. JMHO

It was self published. There is no way a traditional publisher would have picked up that book the way it was written. It is in desperate need of an editor. I am not knocking all self-published books. Some are presented very well.

She did have a story to tell though.

The reason I read it was to experience surgeryobsession from another persons point of view, without really paying much attention to the actual language or writing flaws.

If I didnt have that problem, I'd probably have a hard time getting through it aswell.

That makes total sense Catarina. My opinion was she could have dealt with the issue without going into every little detail about her life.

Agree on the details.

What fascinates me the most is how she paints out her husband/marriage in the book. I wouldnt be too happy if I was the husband!:)

He's described as a non-speaking surgery-ATM.

Has she posted photos of her journey anywhere? I am going to read the book, so thanks Catarina, for the recommendation.

she seems to crave attention, which led her to the PS obsession... and then the way to get attention with her story is to sensationalize it with gritty detail. i haven't read it, but I've seen exerpts and she did used to post. it has a certain train wreck quality ... so that you keep looking even though you know you should be looking away... and this approach seems to be deliberate on the author's part.

can't recall. she posted for long time before the book came out, when she was going thru her surgeries with Dr Y. then she posted about the book, but didn't say it was her book... then somehow she got outted for posting about herself (her book) to get publicity while acting as if she was a third party.
